Located in southeastern Spain, the El Ejido greenhouse will conduct demonstration activities with Tomato Realsol across three growing seasons (February 2026 to July 2027). The focus will be on testing advanced technologies such as precision climate control, robotic monitoring, and AI-driven management tools to optimize water use, pest control, and yields under the region’s arid conditions.
Replication activities will follow with Dutch cucumber cultivation over two pilot phases (August 2027 to July 2028). These replications will evaluate the adaptability of the tested technologies for cucumber production and crop rotation, ensuring their effectiveness in addressing the unique challenges of desert-like environments.
